Our evangelism and discipleship initiatives focus on strategically saturating each community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The long-term strategy involves daily house to house evangelism and weekly Bible studies (discipleship). The weekly Bible studies are led by a few of our local African staff who have been journeying with us for many years and have a passion to make disciples. Our aim is to train up local Africans to reach their neighbors with the Gospel; Africans reaching Africans. It is clear that the harvest is not only ripe, but is rotting away. It is our mandate to advance the Gospel within these communities with a team of local staff, volunteers and short-term missionaries; each play an important and strategic part in advancing the Gospel throughout the country of South Africa.
Our long term community saturation plans strive to impact the informal settlements of South Africa through evangelism, connecting people to a local Church, getting them plugged into a Bible study and training to reach others with the Gospel. It is our desire to rescue people from their hopelessness, pain and separation from Christ by bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to them on a daily basis through evangelism.
We have established strong partnerships with the local Church so that each person who makes a decision to follow Christ can immediately get plugged into a local Church to be discipled and grow in their faith. Together, these local churches are leading weekly Bible Studies right in the heart of these communities. Through these partnerships we are able to mentor and disciple the local Church to actively play their part in fulfilling the Great Commission in their own communities. We have a desire to raise up Africans so that they can in turn reach their own people; Africans reaching Africans with the Gospel!
We are continually in need of like-minded partners who will come alongside us to advance the Gospel throughout this beautiful country. There are three main ways that you can get involved in our evangelism and discipleship initiatives:
- Come on a short-term mission trip to serve, educate, and rescue with us! You can learn more about our short-term mission trip opportunities by clicking here.
- Partner with us financially! Your financial partnership will go towards the materials needed for evangelism and discipleship (Gospels of John, Bibles, meeting space for Bible studies, and our African staff). If you would like to partner with us financially; either through a one-time or monthly investment, please click here.
- Pray with us and for us! Join with us in prayer for the people within these communities to have open hearts that are ready to receive the Gospel and declare that Jesus Christ is the only way, truth, and life.
“I have been learning so much about God’s heart for His people all around the world and how there is such an urgency to share the Gospel with these people who don’t know.”- Sarah Tapp, Class of 2012
“The Lord has used Impact ME to set my feet on solid ground, not only missionally, but also theologically.”- Ellie Jo Wedell, Class of 2014
“Being an intern at Impact Africa was the greatest decision I've ever made. Before I came here, I was loving and serving Jesus the best I knew how, but it still felt like I was living in black and white. Now, I finally feel like I'm seeing in color. Learning how to share my faith and embracing the Great Commission has made me come alive in a way I've never felt before.”- Sarah Miller, class of 2016
